By default Alt - Backspace doesn’t work in ChromeOS terminal.

To fix, access the settings by hitting Control+Shift+P or use this link.

Then you can change the settings in the Keyboard section. The one to fix Alt+Backspace is Alt+Backspace is Meta-Backspace.
